Title:Art of Sea Monsters
Description:

Paint a picture of the past! Your class will examine fossil evidence, learn about past environment, and then use their artistic license to create a classroom mural of the Mesozoic era! Your class will learn about fossils, what they tell us about past environments, and how science influences art.

 

For this experience, students will need paper, pencil, scissor, and tape.

Meeting Time:Scheduled upon request by the teacher - Concurrent virtual field trips are encouraged within a school. We request classes be held on same day. Fees will be negotiated.

RESCHEDULING: If a virtual field trip needs to be rescheduled due to unforeseen technical or weather events, we will try to reschedule within the following two weeks at no extra charge.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the scheduled virtual field trip. Failure to cancel in advance will result in being charged the full price of the program. There is no charge if your program is canceled due to weather or unforeseen technical problems.



Tech Requirements:

Events are connected using the Nebraska Video Conferencing Network (NVCN) bridge.
Supports H.323 IP (Polycom, Cisco, LifeSize, etc.), Zoom, Lifesize Clearsea, or Jabber connections.
Morrill Hall will schedule and conduct an audio/video test 48 hours prior to program date.

Additional information about your Nebraska State Museum:  The University of Nebraska State Museum (UNSM) was established in 1871 and has steadily grown into one of the leading research and educational science museums in the nation to be associated with a university.

The Museum collects and interprets the natural, geological and anthropological history of the state and of the Great Plains, and holds the collections in trust for all Nebraskans.

The Museum is comprised of the world-famous "Elephant Hall", a research collection containing over 13 million specimens, Mueller Planetarium, the Dr. Paul and Betty Marx Discovery Center, Trailside Museum of Natural History at Fort Robinson State Park, and Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park.
