| Description: | Technology pervades nearly every aspect of our lives and includes any use of human knowledge to extend our abilities, solve problems, meet needs, or make things easier or more efficient. This course provides an introduction to the history and nature of six general types of technology. Through it students will explore how technology works, including the design process, problem solving, outcomes, and applications. Students will investigate how technology is changing the fields of communication, biotechnology, manufacturing, construction, transportation, and energy and power. They will also explore related careers that are part of these fields.
