Description: | This class helps students understand the physical, psychological, and social influences involved in housing decisions required for creating a desirable living environment. It includes the evaluation and selection of housing, based on needs, values, and goals; financing--buying vs. renting and specific information related to both; related art in the area of housing--principles of design and elements of art applied to furniture and its arrangement, background units, (walls, window coverings, floor coverings), color themes etc. Practical experience is applied through completion of individual projects involving selection and evaluation of a house floor plan and designing the interior using pictures and actual samples of upholstery materials, drapery and curtain materials, and wall and floor coverings.
Must have a proctor in the room with students at all times.
