Overview: This course is designed for students pursuing careers in allied health fields and who have minimal background in physical and biological sciences with an optional self-review of chemistry necessary to understand biological
processes. The CODEC system will provide visual contact for lecture,
discussions, grading, videos or a variety of learning options. All assignments will be scheduled using Schoology a Course Management Software.
Covered chapters include: Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology; Cells; Cellular Metabolism; Tissues; Skin and the Integumentary System; Skeletal System; Muscular System; Nervous System; Somatic and Special  Senses; Blood; Cardiovascular System; Digestion and Nutrition; Respiratory System; Reproductive Systems
 
The following chapters are only covered if time allows: Chemical Basis of Life; Endocrine System; Lymphatic System and Immunity; Urinary System; Water, Electrolyte, and Acid-Base Balance; Pregnancy, Growth, and Development

Comments:Required Materials: Hole's Essentials of Human Anatomy and Physiology; 10th edition; Shier, Butler, and Lewis, editors. Laboratory Manual used as a workbook is Hole’s essentials of Human Anatomy and Physiology:10th edition; by Terry R. Martin (Sheir, Butler & Lewis)Schools need to purchase NEW LAB Manuals from Arcadia Public Schools. Laptop preferred(or desktop computer in a Distance Learning Room) Codec System Schoology Course Management/Skype, texting, Google/g-mail are all forms of communication. High Speed Internet at home is optional but very beneficial for homework Class time +/- 5 min. on Arcadia HS schedule.

Class on Friday is from 10:57-11:38 A.M. (flexible +/- 5 min.)
Fridays is a work day as most schools have different schedules.

I am available by appointments before/after school or during lunch.
Proctor recommended for single student (definitely on Test Days) and is REQUIRED daily for 2 or more students.

Cost:3 Hours of College Credit from Mid-Plains and pay Arcadia for a Laboratory book.
