Course Name:Parenting

Description:This class focuses on various aspects of parenting, beginning with the conscious decision to become parents, adjustments during pregnancy, and adjustments to being parents.  Development during pregnancy is studied followed by the birth process, and care during pregnancy.  Students learn about the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of young children, guidance and discipline, child abuse, birth defects and the handicapped child.  Crisis problems in families are also discussed.  An observation time will be arranged so students can work with young children.

Must have a proctor in the room with students at all times.
