Course Information
Course Name:NEVA Physiology
Entity:ESU 13
Description:There is a creature that has nerve impulses that can travel over 260 mph and bones that are five times stronger than steel. It lives with the same amount of bacterial cells as its own cells (about 30 trillion of each). It has 19 feet of blood vessels in every square
inch of its skin. This creature has ears that never stop growing, a sense of touch that can discern something twice the width of a human eyelash and it can detect and remember over 50,000 smells. It has teeth that are as strong as shark teeth and the total surface area of its lungs is as large as a tennis court. Can you guess what amazing creature this is? It’s you! This course serves as an introduction to human anatomy and physiology with an emphasis on physiology, the study of body structures working together to support the functions of life.
