Description:This course introduces three aspects of language arts: literature, grammar and composition. In the literature segments, students read short stories, poetry, folk tales and nonfiction. The emphasis is on enjoying and understanding various types of literature. In the grammar and composition lessons, students deal with parts of speech, characteristics of sentences and paragraph development. This course also encourages the development of research and communication skills.
